After getting some new brushes for light and watercolors installed, I played with the new tablet a bit more. I really need to use that thing more.

Kong

I spent some time this weekend playing with my new(ish) Cintiq tablet. I had the idea when making dinner that it would be fun to re-imagine famous movies in a simplistic style, similar to that found in many book covers. “Kong” is the first of at least a couple more to come.

Adam and I have posted another chapter in the saga that is Play the Next Track.

Another ten days and another chapter of Play the Next Track is up. I like the direction the story is taking - it’s finally getting a bit of meat to it!

Batman

To counteract my injury-provoked lethargy as of late, I bought myself a Wacom Cintiq digital tablet. This was my first doodle on it - nerdy, of course. To say that it is a ton of fun drawing on this thing would be an understatement.

Adam and I have completed the newest chapter for Play the Next Track, based on the song “Devil Got My Woman” by the amazing Skip James.

My frequent artistic collaborator, Adam Morse, and I have finally launched a project we’ve been cooking up for some time now. Play the Next Track is a back-and-forth collaborative creation of digital pieces based on a particular song. We’ll be updating it with a new chapter on the tenth, twentieth, and thirtieth of every month.

Just a simple piece today, based on Cloud Cult’s “The Ghost Inside Our House.”

While spending far too much time on illustrating this obvious joke, I realized there are an inordinate amount of slang terms on the effects of pot related to bread. “Toasted“, “baked“, and even “lit” or “stoned” to a point.
